Access Services
Welcome to Access Services!
We are dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations and support for students with disabilities in alignment with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Our office believes in the social and identity models of disability, viewing disability as an important part of campus diversity. Our goal is to promote equal access and opportunities within academic environments, while fostering the use of Universal Design both in the classroom and throughout campus spaces.
Access Services supports students, staff, and faculty by raising awareness and offering resources that enhance the educational experience for individuals with disabilities. The Access Services team is highly trained in determining appropriate accommodations for college-level adult learners, working closely with students to identify and address access barriers. Unlike K-12 education, college students are expected to actively engage with our office, ensuring full participation in all campus programs, activities, and processes.
IMPORTANT:
Every student’s situation is unique, and we understand that navigating the accommodation process can sometimes be challenging. Whether or not you have medical documentation, we encourage you to reach out to our office for a discussion. We are here to partner with you and explore how we can best support your academic success and address any barriers you may face.
EQUAL ACCESS:
Access Services staff do their best to ensure students with disabilities have equal access for participation in campus courses, programs, and activities, and processes. Once a student registers with Access Services, they are regarded as a student with a disability and receive protection against disability discrimination based on federal and state law.

Access Services Appointment Policies
- Please bring with, or join your remote Intake or Update appointment from, a PC/MAC, laptop, or tablet. A smart phone will not be sufficient for most appointments. If this is not possible, please let the front desk know in advance.
- Access Services observes a 15-minute cancellation policy for all types of appointments. If the individual does not attend their meeting within 15 minutes of it's scheduled start time, the meeting will need to be rescheduled for a later date. The individual will be responsible for rescheduling their missed appointment.
- If an individual misses 4 scheduled appointments in one quarter, Access Services will have to request that they not schedule again that same quarter. They will be able to reschedule the following quarter.
What is the Interactive Process?
If you are a student with a disability and think you are in need of accommodations, you must self-identify to Access Services and complete an intake appointment to establish services. The intake appointment is an interactive process allowing for an in-depth conversation between the student and Access Services staff. This confidential appointment includes discussion and verification of the student’s disability, barriers and challenges, and potential accommodations. The student’s unique situation and classes are taken into consideration when determining and approving accommodation services. Sometimes an immediate determination cannot be made during the intake depending on the complexity of the accommodation request. If this is the case, staff will explain next steps to the student, which include gathering more information to assist in reaching a determination. During the interactive intake appointment, the student will receive information about their own responsibilities, next steps and professor communication.
What is AIM?
AIM is a confidential database that helps track student information and implementation of accommodation services. Each student registered with Access Services will have a student profile inside AIM. Inside your profile, students can sign Agreement Forms, upload disability documentation, request and renew accommodations each quarter, view the Message Center and more.
