About

Physicists conduct research into physical phenomena, develop theories on the basis of observation and experiments, and devise methods to apply physical laws and theories. TCC's physics program offers courses that cover the first two years of a typical four-year college physics or astronomy program, preparing graduates to successfully transfer to a Bachelor of Science program.

The Careers

Physicist

Conduct research into physical phenomena, develop theories on the basis of observation and experiments, and devise methods to apply physical laws and theories.

Astronomer

Observe, research, and interpret astronomical phenomena to increase basic knowledge or apply such information to practical problems.

Physics Professor

Teach courses pertaining to the laws of matter and energy. Includes teachers who do a combination of teaching and research.

Biophysicist

Study the chemical composition or physical principles of living cells and organisms, their electrical and mechanical energy, and related phenomena.
