The Associate of Arts — Specialization in Music degree is offered to students who may not want to practice or pursue music, but who would rather study it while getting their degree. Students pursuing this degree are not required to focus on an instrument. They can focus on either Music Humanities or Music Theory. This degree is a good pathway for students who want to minor in music or get a Bachelor of Arts in music at a four-year university.

Musician or Singer

Play one or more musical instruments or sing. May perform on stage, for broadcasting, or for sound or video recording.

Music Director

Conduct, direct, plan, and lead instrumental or vocal performances by musical artists or groups, such as orchestras, bands, choirs, and glee clubs; or create original works of music.

Music Teacher

Teach courses in music. Instructors may teach in the K-12 system, at the college level, or as a private music instructor.
