Have you been told that you are not eligible for financial aid because you have to many college credits (earned while incarcerated at WCCW or MCCCW)?

Before you panic and withdraw from school, talk to your school’s financial aid office and ask if you are eligible to apply for their Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal process. Many students earn a lot of college credit while incarcerated, and some formerly incarcerated students have reported being told they have too many credits to eligible for financial aid. Talk with your financial aid office and explain that while incarcerated, your college education was subsidized by the Department of Corrections (unless you used reinstated Pell Grants after 2024).
