Disruptive Person

What to do if you encounter a disruptive person on campus.

If you encounter a person on campus who appears to be in crisis and is disrupting the environment around them, please contact Campus Public Safety by dialing 253-566-5111, or by dialing extension 5111 from any college phone.

TCC strives to be an anti-racist institution, and we’re aware that our perception of what constitutes “disruptive” behavior can be affected by our unconscious attitudes towards factors such as race and gender. When calling Campus Public Safety to report a disruptive person, we encourage you to focus on problematic actions rather than problematic people.

At the same time, we encourage you to listen to your instincts when it comes to safety. If you get the persistent feeling that something does not seem right about an individual, please to talk to Campus Public Safety about it. They are trained to assess behaviors and refer individuals to resources that could help them.
