Scholarships
Scholarships. A Gift, Not a Loan
Scholarships are gifts and do not need to be paid back.
Currently have student loans? You can still apply for scholarships and reduce your loan amount. TCC students may receive scholarships up to the total cost of attendance for the academic year you are enrolled.
Some scholarships ask you meet criteria such as academic achievement, athletic or artistic talent, financial need, particular fields of study or involvement in the community.
Other scholarships, such as some TCC Foundation scholarships, have minimal criteria. Awards range from $500 to $5,500.
Overview
The scholarship application process is separate from the application for federal and state financial aid.
Unsure about potential use of scholarship funds? Please check with your scholarship donor. In most cases, scholarships are to be used for tuition and fees, books, supplies, and/or equipment (in that order), in rare instances the scholarship can be given to the student in the form of a refund for living expenses.
