College Bound Scholarships

 Step 1: Apply to TCC

• You can apply online, in person at Enrollment Services in Building 7 or by calling 253-566-5325.

• Step 2: Submit your FAFSA/WASFA Financial Aid Application
  • Go to FAFSA or WASFA to fill out your financial aid applications by the deadline date. You should apply for financial aid as soon after October 1 as possible. Do not wait until you are admitted to apply. The FAFSA and WASFA are free forms. Don’t pay any site that tries to charge you money to submit your financial aid application–those are the wrong websites.
  • Check your email one week after submitting the FAFSA. If something is missing, they will only contact you by email. For WASFA students email Lorena Saucedo at TCC Financial Aid Services with questions.
• Step 3: Complete the College Financial Aid Process
  • Look for your emailed Student Aid Report (SAR) and read it carefully to make sure the info is correct. For FAFSA students call the Department of Education at 1.800.4.FEDAID to check your status if you don’t receive your SAR; for WASFA students email Lorena Saucedo at TCC Financial Aid Services.
  • Make sure you respond quickly to any requests for information as your chance to get the most money possible depends on how promptly you meet requests. In addition, check your ctcLink Student Center and your email for any request for documents TCC needs.
  • If your financial aid process isn’t complete by the fall quarter financial aid deadline you may have to pay for fall quarter tuition yourself. You would still receive the aid you are eligible for, but not until sometime after the quarter starts. Your other option would be to wait and begin the next quarter.
• Step 4: Review Placement Testing
  • All students are required to review placement testing options. You won't be able to register for classes without placement.
• Step 5: Sign Up for a New Student Orientation
  • All new students are required to attend a new student advising & orientation. The sooner you attend orientation the better your choice of classes. Register for orientation now.
• Step 6: Register for Classes at Orientation
  • At your orientation our advisors will help you develop an academic plan and show you how to register for fall classes. You must be registered for classes before you will be reviewed for financial aid/College Bound scholarship. Review TCC's class schedule to see what classes are available.
• Step 7: Finalize the Financial Aid Process (July/August)
  • You’ll receive a financial aid award letter from TCC once you’ve completed steps 1-3. Contact Financial Aid Services or the Outreach Services if you have any questions.
• Step 8: Contact your College Bound Advocate
  • Make sure to connect with our College Bound Advocate, Marco Flores, for all the support you need to succeed during your time here at TCC.
