TCC offers a range of financial aid, including grants, loans and scholarships from a variety of sources.Read about Types of Aid.
Financial aid is a process with several steps. Start by completing the FAFSA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid), followed by the TCC Financial Aid Institutional
Form. Read about applications steps.
Start at least six weeks before the deadline. If you wait to submit your FAFSA until
the last minute your award won’t arrive in time to cover tuition, which can cause
your enrollment to be cancelled due to non-payment. Submit your FAFSA as soon as you
can and look for your Student Aid Report (SAR) in the mail or email within two weeks.
Respond quickly to any requests for more information to improve your chance at getting
the aid you need.
The TCC School Code is 003796. This School Code is used for the FAFSA and the WASFA.
The deadline depends on what quarter you want to start school. If you miss a deadline you may still get aid, but plan for it arriving after the quarter
starts. View deadlines.
If you miss the deadline (or file completion date) for the quarter you want to start
school you can still apply for financial aid. However, if you sign up to attend classes
be prepared to pay for your own tuition and books as any financial aid you get might
not be ready until after the tuition due date.
Because classes fill up quickly, don’t wait to get financial aid before registering
for classes. Sign up for a New Student Orientation (NSO) and select classes in advance
of notification of your financial aid award.
Outstanding items are listed on your ctcLink Student Center. You should also regularly
check your TCC student email (assigned to you when you first applied to the college),
in addition to the email you’ve listed as 'preferred' on your Student Center. Please
note that email is our primary way of communicating with you.
Contact the financial aid office as soon as you notice anything wrong. You’re responsible
for ensuring all information on your SAR is complete and accurate.
The TCC Foundation gives over $200,000 per year of scholarship money to both incoming
and current TCC students. Scholarship criteria can be based on academic achievement,
athletic or artistic talent, financial need, particular fields of study or involvement
in the community. The scholarship application season is usually January through March
for the following academic year. Learn more about scholarships. You can also create a profile attheWashBoard.org, a free service connecting Washington students with all types of scholarships.
