International Student Hosting

Host a Student, Open Your World

Open your door and let the adventure begin! Are you looking for an enriching cultural experience? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of students? Our International Student Housing program may be your opportunity to make a difference and experience a life-changing adventure.

We are now accepting applications for qualified hosts looking to share and make culture connections. Whether you choose a short-term (one week) or long-term (one year) program, you and your student will have the full support of the TCC International Program every step of the way, to help make the experience easy, rewarding, and memorable. Hosts are also given a stipend to cover their costs.

Support at Every Step

Our International Program staff is dedicated to clear communication and ongoing support throughout your hosting experience. We speak Mandarin, Korean, Russian, and Spanish to provide excellent communication to you and your student.

Hosting Options

Hosting is not one-size-fits-all. Customize your experience based on terms length (one week to two years), the number of students you host, meal options, transportation, etc. To find the ideal match, we take time to get to know you and your students.

Term Options

Fixed

Time: 7 days, 21 days, or 6 months

Meal Options: Complete Meals

Fixed-Annual

Time:

  • Sept – March 2026 (6 months)
  • March – Aug. 2026 (6 months)
  • November 2026 (1 week)
  • February 2026 (3 weeks)

Meal Options: Complete or Partial Meals

Ongoing

Time: 3 months – 2 years

Meal Options

Complete Meals

For Complete Meals, host must provide food for three meals per day and prepare three dinners per week. Student use host-provided groceries to prepare their own breakfasts, lunches, and the remaining dinners. See the Monthly Stipend for this option.

Partial Meals

For Partial Meals, hosts provide pantry and refrigerated storage space, kitchen access, and cooking tools, but students are responsible for purchasing and preparing their own food. See the Monthly Stipend for this option.

Host Qualifications

Private Bedroom

Students must have a private bedroom with a door, closet, door, and exterior emergency egress. At a minimum, the room must include at least one twin-sized bed, a desk, and a dresser. (Hosts with multiple students may offer a shared-room option with bunk beds, but two of each furniture item is required.)

Utilities

Hosts must provide all basic utilities (water, electricity, etc.) and should offer a high-speed Internet connection.

Essentials

Host must provide basic essentials such as linens, towels, toilet paper, etc. Students are responsible for their own personal use items such as toiletries.

Location

Hosts must live within (A) a 60-minute public transit commute, (B) a 20-minute walk to either campus directly orthe nearest bus stop. (Hosts who do not meet this requirement, but are willing to provide transportation to the student, may be considered.)

Monthly Stipend

Hosting is about sharing culture and supporting students. The hosting stipend is meant to cover your costs and should not be relied upon as regular income. Students typically pay hosts directly on the first day of each month with cash, check, or payment apps.

Complete Meals
For a Complete Meals, host must provide food for three meals per day and prepare three dinners per week. Student use host-provided groceries to prepare their own breakfasts, lunches, and the remaining dinners.

One student – $950/mo.
Two students (shared room) - $1,700/mo.
Two students (separate rooms) - $1900/mo.

Partial Meals
For a Partial Meals, hosts provide pantry and refrigerated storage space, kitchen access, and cooking tools, but students are responsible for purchasing and preparing their own food.

One student – $700/mo.
Two students – $1,200/mo.
