Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certificate Application Process
The EMT program is one quarter (12 credits) in length. Starting in 2026, there will only be two application cycles per year. Please see below for upcoming application timelines.
Due to the high volume of interest in the EMT program, TCC will select applicants based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: application completion, location, academic preparation, etc. All others will be randomly selected via a lottery-based system.
Application Timelines:
The application window for Summer quarter 2025 will be 6 a.m., March 25th to 5 p.m., April 25t
Admission Information
In order to be admitted to the EMT program, students must have:
- Current government issued photo identification
- High school diploma or GED prior to taking the NREMT exam
- Age 18 prior to clinical or field experience during the program
- Must have all required immunizations
Paramedic Certificate Application Process
The Paramedic program is four consecutive quarters (61 credits) in length, starting in summer. There is one application cycle per year.
Application Timeline:
Each year, the application will open on January 15th at 6 a.m. and close on March 31st at 11:59 p.m.
Admission Information:
Before applying to the Paramedic program, students must obtain their EMT certificate and have documentation of a minimum of 1 year of active EMT experience (volunteer experience is acceptable).
