TCC Foundation Welcomes BECU Philanthropy Program Manager Rafael Saucedo

Rafael Saucedo, who helps lead BECU’s philanthropic giving initiatives and nonprofit engagement, has been active in philanthropy and community relations for almost a decade. His work in fundraising started at Sea Mar Community Health Centers, securing sponsorships to host clinic events, and he has also raised funds for Forterra NW. Most of his work is centered in the South Sound area but is proud of his roots in eastern Washington, where he spent the majority of his childhood and adolescent years.

Saucedo’s decision to join the TCC Foundation Board is an expression of his strong commitment to higher education and career development, especially in the community college space.

“When looking back on my educational journey, I wish I would have considered starting my college studies at a community college, as it would have provided me with more time to explore different career paths while saving on resources and being close to home,” Saucedo shared.

Saucedo earned a Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Leadership and a Master of Arts in Community Planning from the University of Washington Tacoma. In addition to his work at BECU, he serves as Board Director of the Seattle Southside Success Foundation, is a committee member for the National Association of Latino Credit Unions & Professionals, and is part of the collective responsible for putting together the South Sound’s annual Celebrando Communidad awards celebration at the University of Washington Tacoma.
