The Titan Men’s Basketball Team will play Skagit Valley in the Final Four of the NWAC tournament at 2 p.m. for the chance to play either Green River or Portland in the championship game on Sunday. Visit the NWAC Tournament Website to follow tournament stats and watch games online.

Head Coach Rachi Wortham says the team has had some impressive winning streaks this season, including an eleven-game streak.

“I’m just excited to be in this situation, a situation we haven’t been in in a while, to travel to the Final Four – we’re playing good at the right time.”

TCC Athletic Director Jason Prenovost says that many in the NWAC are seeing this as a great run with a couple of upsets along the way, but it’s not surprising for those who know the team.

“I’ve been able to watch the work of this team and coaching staff, gotten to know these young men as people, and I can honestly tell you they are right where I expected them to be.”

Wortham mentioned four standout players:

Chae Haynes, Wortham says, is powerful around the rim. A first-team all-region player, he’s the NWAC’s second leading rebounder.

Winston Cole is a second-team all-region player and a first team all-defense player.

KeVaughn Harvey is a leader for the Titans at the point guard position.

Lareel Stewart, Wortham says, is not flashy – but he does all the dirty work, and he shows up every day.

But the Titans' championship hopes don't rest only on standout players; the team is deep.

"We’re lucky that we’ve got at least seven guys that can go get 20 points on a given day,” Wortham said. “It’s a pretty good situation to be in.”

Prenovost agrees.

“It is a special group of young men and Rachi and his staff have done a great job teaching and creating the structure that has the team playing its best ball at the most important time of the year. I’m proud of this group and believe there is nothing they can’t accomplish.”
