Transfer Equivalency Guides
Equivalency guides are created to help students transfer institutions. They are a great tool to see how courses and credits can transfer to a specific university. The guides below can also indicate what requirements those courses meet. While not all universities have transfer guides available, here are online guides from schools that Tacoma Community College students frequently transfer to that will assist you.
Transfer guides are maintained by the universities, and TCC cannot guarantee the accuracy of these guides. Please check with your intended transfer school for the most up-to-date information.
Washington Schools
Central Washington University
Select "CWU Equivalencies", then select Tacoma Community College for the most up-to-date
listing.
Eastern Washington University
Enter Tacoma, WA. Select Tacoma Community College and click Get School Information.
Browse courses by subject or search for a specific course.
Pacific Lutheran University
Select, Washington and Tacoma Community College.
Seattle University
Enter Tacoma Community College in the Institution Search bar. Select Tacoma Community
College and click search to enter specific course information.
The Evergreen State College
Select the Tacoma (PDF) to view course equivalencies.
University of Puget Sound
Select Washington then Tacoma Community College. TCC courses are listed under Transfer
Course and the University of Puget Sound equivalent is under UPS course.
University of Washington
Select Tacoma Community College from the list of schools and then browse by department.
Washington State University
Select Transfer Course Search. Then select Tacoma Community College from the institution
drop box and search.
Western Washington University
Select Tacoma Community College from the drop-down menu and then Course Equivalencies.
Search by all courses in an academic department or by a single course.

Click on Begin Session, and then narrow your search to Washington, Tacoma, and finally

Course descriptions can be found in the relevant course catalog. Syllabi may be requested for classes from the last 7 years only by submitting a Syllabus Request Form.
Transfer Agreements Between TCC and Universities
The Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) site will provide you with information regarding how a Tacoma Community College degree will transfer to a university. Review the Intercollege Relations Commission handbook to locate your intended university. The handbook will list any additional requirements to a transfer degree based on the institution. Once admitted to a bachelor's degree program, students who complete these transfer degrees can generally expect 90 transferrable quarter credits and Junior class standing.
Students who want to transfer should talk to academic advisors at both schools.
