Policy

Liaison with media will be maintained through regularly scheduled published news releases. In addition to the news releases, frequent contacts will be made with media representatives to ensure the accuracy of reporting.  Accepted press relations will be maintained by the Marketing, Communications and Outreach Dept. under the direction of the VP for Institutional Advancement.

Purpose

Tacoma Community College recognizes it has a responsibility to meet the educational, recreational, and cultural needs of the community.  Part of that responsibility is to inform and promote the educational, cultural, recreational and service programs offered to the community through the use of available media.  These are guidelines for establishing and maintaining successful media relations.
