The Assessment/Placement Center is for all incoming students who plan on attending Tacoma Community College. The department assesses your skills in math and/or English. These are used for prerequisites to allow registration for classes.
Future students can be assessed through multiple/alternative measures. From this website, review the sections and options under “Multiple/Alternative Measures Information”. If you do qualify for a multiple/alternative measure, please email unofficial documents to placement@tacomacc.edu. All documents emailed must include your full name, school/college/university name. Include your full name, ctcLink ID#, classes you are interested in taking, and the quarter you plan on starting at TCC (ex. fall, Winter, Spring).
Multiple/Alternative Measures don't work? English and math placement tools are available on the site and can be accessed 24/7. Once completed, the staff will evaluate your information, you can expect an email from the department within 72 hours.

Processes and Communication Tools in Place

Tacoma Community College mental health counseling sessions are being conducted remotely via an internet platform called Doxy.me. This change is to help protect you and the community’s physical health and safety. You will be invited into the session by your counselor through an email link. You will be able to talk with your counselor either through a video screen or by audio only.
