About

Leigh Simon was born and raised in the Chicago area and moved to Washington State in 1994. Prior to working in the disability field, she was a nurse’s assistant, medical advocate, and massage therapist. Within this work, Leigh specialized in working with people with developmental and neurological disabilities. Leigh also served as professor, a program chair, and a career advisor for healthcare programs. Leigh started at TCC in Fall 2019 as a Program Assistant for Access Services and was quickly promoted to Program Specialist. She was hired on October 3, 2022, as Access Services’ first Disability Accommodation Specialist. Leigh is often described as the heart of Access Services and is the first face that students see when they walk in the doors. In 2022, Leigh was recognized by TCC for the prestigious Tahoma Award and the Classified Staff Equity, Diversity, Inclusion Award. In her spare time, Leigh likes hanging out with her Cane Corso puppy, Scuzi, and likes long walks on the beach in the Pacific Northwest.
